Partners & Funding

The Research Action Alliance on the Consequences of Work Injury has funding for five years (2006-2011) through a grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). The funding comes from an SSHRC program called the Community-University Research Alliance.

The Alliance is composed of 10 partner organizations, as well as a number of participating organizations.

The Alliance has a unique organizational structure that ensures shared decision-making, power, resources and opportunities for all its community partners. We have taken steps to ensure a process that builds trust, enhances the skill sets of both community and university partners, and facilitates knowledge exchange among the university, community and policy-maker partners. We are committed to ensuring that this research will be used to influence current policies and programs. To this end we are including policy-makers in the earliest stages of the initiative.

The Alliance is interested in building a community surrounding this initiative. We strive to be inclusive and transparent regarding the way in which we conduct and produce our research.
